💧 What is a Bakki Shower?
A Bakki Shower is a multi-tray filter system where water is pumped to the top tray and allowed to cascade down through several layers of media (like Bacteria House Media). As it falls, it absorbs oxygen and removes harmful waste such as ammonia and nitrite.
⚙️ Working Principle
Water flow: Pond water is pumped to the top tray.
Distribution: Water spreads evenly and drops down through multiple trays filled with porous filter media.
Oxygenation: The falling water captures oxygen from the air — achieving maximum gas exchange.
Biological filtration: Beneficial bacteria living on the media convert ammonia → nitrite → nitrate (nitrification).
Degassing: Toxic gases like CO₂, H₂S, and NH₃ are released during the fall.
🌿 Main Functions & Benefits
| Purpose | Description |
|---|---|
| Biological Filtration | Breaks down ammonia and nitrite via nitrifying bacteria. |
| Aeration / Oxygenation | Adds large amounts of dissolved oxygen to water. |
| Degassing | Removes CO₂ and other harmful gases from the water. |
| Cooling Effect | Helps slightly reduce water temperature due to evaporation. |
| Crystal Clear Water | Promotes healthy bacterial balance, reducing algae and odors. |
| Low Maintenance | Self-cleaning to some extent due to constant water flow and oxygen exposure. |
